Masuria with a dog is an offer to spend your free time with a dog in Masuria, between Giżycko and Ełk, on a small village in the municipality of Wydminy, in a place about 2 km from the main road, which guarantees safety and silence.
We offer relaxation in a relaxed and friendly way, with relatives – friends, family and their dogs, in peace and quiet, surrounded by beautiful Masurian nature, among forests, meadows and lakes.
For lovers of Masuria and excursions, we offer rental of apartments adapted to the stay of the most demanding dogs and their equally demanding guardians.
The apartments are located in three separate buildings in a traditional rural habitat from the times of East Prussia. We have made every effort to restore the habitat while maintaining its original appearance and taking into account the modern needs of comfortable rest.
In order to preserve the intimate character of our place and the greatest comfort of our guests, we offer only a few apartments for rent. We have deliberately not created a large holiday resort, one of many, and despite the potential of the place. We wanted to create an unique climate for relaxation and good memories.
The apartments are decorated with attention to detail, maintained in a rustic style, preserving the traditional, rural character of the entire facility and individual rooms.
All apartments are independent premises, each with a similar, high standard, with a high fenced plot. In each apartment there is a kitchenette and bathroom, and at guests’ disposal: kitchen utensils and cutlery, bedding, bed and bowls for dogs, TV, Internet access, barbecue and garden beds. In addition, all guests can use the common area, the pond and the designated place for a bonfire near the pond. There is also a possibility to rent bicycles and kennel cages (for an additional fee). For families with small children we provide a travel cot, a high chair and a washing tub as well as cutlery, bowls and cups for children.
It is important that no one is in the apartments except renters, and there are no other animals in the fenced area of each apartment.
For animals irrespective of their number, weight, size, color and length of hair – we do not charge extra fees!

Masuria with Dog is located in Masuria Garbate, which is famous for its picturesque, undulating landscape. There are several lakes in the immediate area (within 4km radius), including Jędzelewo, Krzywe, Pamer, Wydmińskie, Czarne and Białe Lakes.
We recommend to our guests interesting walking and cycling routes, checked places for swimming with dogs in the lake, restaurants with good regional food and places worth visiting. Nearby there are horse stables, safaris and other tourist attractions.

Our story
How the place Masuria with Dog was created
We personally know what it means to go on holiday with two large dogs … Unfortunately, this is almost impossible due to certain conditions. Of course, there are a lot of places that theoretically ‘accept animals’, BUT: 1. If I want to come with a dog, it should be better one and small dog; 2. It’s best outside the holiday season when there will be no other guests.
The above causes that we usually spent the holidays at home, because our dogs can not stand the separation, they are two and quite big ones. On the other hand, they are part of our family and we did not really want to spend holidays without them.
We also know that it is very difficult to find a place where human conditions are. If you can stay somewhere with dogs, usually they are places like dog kennels, not houses (we also went through this before).
We perfectly know the problem of holidays with dogs – usually impossible to implement during the holiday period, as well as any other free time, such as holidays, long weekends, New Year’s Eve, holidays. We tried to leave many times, for many years (our dogs are already mature) and despite all efforts, we did not find a place where we could feel at ease and really relax (read: let go dogs and not worry about any other animals or people they feel safe).
When after many years of living in a fabulous place in Masuria, it turned out that we will be moving, we decided to share our home for friends with the dogs and friends of their friends for holidays. The house was fully adapted to the stay of ‘difficult’, meaning demanding, large dogs. Difficult because they are escaping from the yard, difficult because they are excessively reactive, difficult because territorial, etc.
From the great interest in our holiday home and from all our experiences and needs related to life and traveling with dogs, the idea of “Masuria with a Dog” was finally born – an offer for all dog owners who want to spend their holidays with their dogs in dignified, human living conditions, without worrying about the dog and bystanders. In the following years we have prepared 3 additional places called by us apartments; each of them meets the standard we have defined and the condition of satisfying rest with the dog: independence and a separate, fenced plot. Thanks to such conditions Masuria with a Dog can guarantee relaxation to all our guests – both people and dogs.
For us, the best holidays were always those spent with the whole family when our dogs were with us. It is for them that we give up flying to warm countries and other tourist attractions. Our goal was to create an attractive place for both people and dogs. We hope that every member of your family will feel good here, rest and will want to come back here.

Idea of Masuria with a Dog
Where did the idea for Masuria with a Dog come from?
Our goal was to create a place of relaxation, friendly to people and their animals. A place where resting guests will not have to worry about their dog, its safety and security or the comfort of other vacationers. A place where the dog will also rest – not only from the city, but also from the leash.
We wanted to create a place that will be dedicated to families with dogs, and bluntly speaking to the dogs-people. Other than the so-called “dog friendly places”. Unfortunately, in most places allegedly dogs friendly, you can not be with a big dog or with several dogs at the same time. You can not let the dog off the leash, so you can not really rest.
We encounter discrimination against dogs at every step. It refers to the weight of the dog, its appearance, the number of dogs and its natural behavior, like barking. Instead of being indignant on discriminatory practices, we decided to do something “in spite of it”, to show everyone that you can treat our everyday canine companions humanly, also during holidays, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We wanted to prove that families with dogs are not worse and do not deserve bad treatment or bad conditions. On the contrary, they should be appreciated for the fact that they love their dogs so much that they want and like to spend every free moment with them.
In Masuria with a Dog there is no discrimination, especially against animals. Any animals can rest here, any ointment, gender, weight, and in any number, and what is equally important – we do not charge extra for them!
